Welcome to our thriving ladies section comprising of a small, friendly, supportive group of ladies who love nothing better than playing golf and enjoying fun, friendship, fitness and fizz.
Here at DDGC we have dedicated tee times for ladies. We play together on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday mornings all year round, weather permitting. Competitions and medals are mainly played during the height of the golf season but we can also play non-competitive, social golf 7 days a week. All forms of the game tend to be followed by a chat, laughter, coffee and cakes or something a little stronger.
In addition we field teams of 7 players in the A and B leagues of the Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association Interclub Club Championship. Twelve matches in total both home and away. We also compete annually in the Yorkshire Foursomes competition. Members of our Dewsbury ladies won the overall championship in 2017.
Every year we host a ladies Invitation day, mixed 4BBB, Ladies AM-AM and a Mixed AM-AM. The ladies annual outing with an overnight stay is a highlight. as is our Christmas party games night.
Bank Holidays normally see us enjoying playing mixed friendly golf followed by an informal meal. Some of us also play in the club’s Seniors competitions throughout the year.
As well as golf, we make no apology for enjoying varied social events which in the past have included garden parties, fashion shows, chocolate tasting, wine tasting, flower arranging, sugar crafting, golf psychology, to name but a few!
Any lady who is interested in joining us, meeting new people and keeping fit shouldn’t hesitate. A golf buddy will be on hand to provide support and advice.
